Nadi Gathering Bali
4–10 September 2026
Small group journeys into living traditions and nature
This September, we gather in Bali again.
Nadi Gatherings are small-group journeys into living traditions, shaped through ongoing relationships with local communities. This is not a retreat in the usual sense. It is a guided cultural journey held with care and in reciprocity.
In Bali, spiritual life is not separate from daily life. Homes are family temples. Offerings are made each day. Ritual, devotion and community are woven into the fabric of how people live. We return to spend time within that rhythm. Our intention is not to consume. We go to listen, learn and participate respectfully.
During the week we visit beautiful sies, spend time with local communities and take part in local ceremonies. Some moments are guided, others simply experienced.
We also practice every day - combining Kundalini Yoga with restorative practices and sounds baths. There is space for both immersion and integration. This is for people wishing to engage with depth, beyond simply travelling and those open to being changed by what they encounter.

The Programme
What Shapes the Gathering
A gradual immersion into Balinese life, held through practice, community and time on the land.

Practice
Each day begins with Kundalini and restorative yoga, preparing body and mind for what follows. The week is a gradual immersion, held through practice, community and time on the land.
Local Customs
We begin with a traditional Melukat water purification, held by a local Mangku priest and priestess. Simple practices such as making Canang Sari offerings reveal the island's daily devotional rhythm.

Community
We are welcomed into a village community in Banjar Tinggan, Desa Pelaga, spending time with Komang and her extended family through conversation, food and shared space — Gamelan music and dance arise naturally.
Drawn to engage with depth
This gathering is for those drawn to engage with depth, and willing to meet another culture with respect and care. You may have an existing practice, or simply a sense that you want to experience something more grounded and real.
An openness to participate, listen and be present is more important than prior experience. The structure is clear, but the experience is never rushed.

The Venue
Desa Seni
A living work of art in the central heartland of Bali.

Rooms
Unique, private accommodations in antique wooden homes imported from across Indonesia — each fully restored and modernised, with all the comforts of home, surrounded by nature and original artifacts.
Food
Chef Willy Kobylt creates unconventional, creative dishes from fresh organic ingredients. The kitchen sources 80% of produce from their own farms, supporting local suppliers who share their values.
Spaces
Open shalas, gardens and quiet corners for practice, rest and integration — every detail in resonance with Balinese tradition and the surrounding environment.
Surroundings
Deeply immersed in nature in the higher central heartland of Bali in Baturiti, off the beaten track and near a traditional village in Kabupaten Tabanan.

Good to Know
Frequently Asked
Do I need to have practiced yoga to come?
Come as you are. Whether you are a regular practitioner or have never been on a yoga mat, you are welcome to spend time with us, and with yourself, on this sacred land.
Flights
Flights are not included. Flights from London and the US East Coast are currently around £1000. From the US, flying from the west coast is much cheaper, and many nearby countries are easy to reach from Bali.
Insurance
Participants are expected to buy personal insurance for the trip. Many policies cover medical treatment and cancelled flights — we recommend independent sites such as Which? and Martin Lewis for guidance.
Arrival & getting to the eco lodge
We organise shuttles from Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on the opening day, morning and afternoon. The cost is approximately $30 and is additional. We aim to bring as many of you together as possible to reduce costs.
Weather
September in Bali is a dry-season month — hot, sunny, with low rainfall and high humidity. Expect temperatures between 24–31°C and roughly 10 hours of daily sunshine.
What to bring
Basic walking boots, a torch, sunscreen, a water bottle, and anything you need for comfort. If you have a sarong please bring one — you'll need it to enter temples. Beautiful sarongs are also available to purchase at Desa Seni.
What will a typical day be like?
We keep it organic. Typically: morning practice — meditation, ceremony or yoga in the shala; breakfast; workshops or a day trip; lunch; afternoon workshops or trip; circle and dinner; a goodnight gong bath. All activities are voluntary, and we visit communities and sacred sites almost daily.
Deposits, payments & refunds
A deposit of £250 / $340 secures your place, payable until 25th June, with fees due in full by 26th June 2026. PayPal and Klarna allow payment in three instalments. We offer a 50% refund of the full fee for cancellations up to and including 26th June 2026.
The Invitation
Come as you are, and be changed by what you encounter.
The group is intentionally small so the experience can be held with care. We would love to welcome you to Bali this September.
